1 The problem
Why people come in
The questions people bring to a Glow Consultation
These are common reasons people look for medical supervision. They are starting points for a conversation with a licensed provider, not questions this page can answer for you.
“Why does the weight keep coming back?”
Past attempts did not last, and you want a plan that includes what happens afterwards.
“I have worked at this for years. What am I missing?”
You have put in the effort and want a clinician to look at the whole picture with you.
“Everyone tells me something different.”
You want one clear plan from a licensed provider, explained in plain language.
“Will my health history or my medications get in the way?”
You take medications or manage a condition and want that considered before anything is recommended.
2 The solution
What it is
What medical weight loss is
Medical weight loss is weight management directed by licensed medical professionals. It is not a single diet or a single product.
It begins with a medical evaluation. A provider looks at your health history, your current medications, what you have already tried and what you want to change. The plan is built from that, and it is written down.
At TruFusion Clinics the program is provider-led and medically supervised. Depending on what your provider finds, a plan can include nutrition and lifestyle guidance, clinically appropriate testing, body composition tracking and, where a provider decides it is appropriate, prescription medication.
It is not a quick fix, it is not a promise of a specific result, and it does not replace your primary care provider.
The options
What a plan can include, and how the parts differ
None of these is automatic. Which of them belong in your plan is decided with you, after your evaluation.
Is it right for you
Who it may be appropriate for
Only a medical evaluation can answer that for you. In general, the program may be worth discussing if you:
- Want medical supervision instead of another self-directed diet.
- Have made lifestyle changes on your own and want a structured clinical plan.
- Want your health history, medications and test results taken into account.
- Want regular follow-up with the same clinical team.
When it may not be the right fit
Medical weight loss is not appropriate for everyone. Some health conditions and some medications change what is suitable, and so do pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your provider will tell you plainly if the program, or a particular treatment within it, is not right for you, and will suggest a sensible next step.
What happens during treatment
How the program works
-
Your Glow Consultation
A licensed provider reviews your health history, your medications, your goals and what you have already tried.
-
Assessment
Your starting point is measured. That can include body composition and, where clinically indicated, lab work.
-
Your written Glow Blueprint™
You receive your plan in writing, with its sequence, timeline and cost. You decide in your own time.
-
Your plan begins
You start the plan you agreed to. Medication is included only where your provider decides it is appropriate for you.
-
Review visits
Progress is reviewed with you and the plan is adjusted when it needs to be.

Education first
You should understand your plan well enough to explain it to someone else.
- Your options are explained in plain language, including the option to do nothing.
- Nothing is scheduled until you have seen your plan in writing.
- Questions are welcome at every visit.
- You decide in your own time. There is no pressure to start on the day.

3 What to expect
Being straightforward
What to expect
What you can count on is a clear process and honest expectations. What no one can promise is a particular result.
What you leave your Glow Consultation with
Your plan in writing: your Glow Blueprint, with its sequence, timeline and cost, and the option to decide in your own time. If the program is not right for you, you leave knowing that too, with a sensible next step.
Results vary
People respond differently. We do not promise a specific amount of weight loss or a specific timeline. We do agree a realistic goal with you and measure against it.
Risks and side effects
Any medical treatment can have them. If medication is part of your plan, your provider explains the possible side effects, who should not take it and what to watch for before you start.
It takes time
Weight management is a long-term effort. Your plan covers follow-up, and what maintaining your progress looks like.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How is medical weight loss different from a diet program?
It is directed by licensed clinicians and it is measured. An assessment establishes your starting point, your plan is written down, and it is adjusted at review visits based on how you are doing.
Do I need a Glow Consultation before I start?
Yes. Every new patient begins with a Glow Consultation so a licensed provider can review your health history, your current medications and your goals. You leave with a written Glow Blueprint and decide afterwards whether to go ahead.
Is prescription medication part of the program?
It can be, but it is never automatic. Prescription medication, including the class known as GLP-1 medicines, is one option a provider may discuss with you. It is only considered after a medical evaluation, it is not appropriate for everyone, and your provider will explain the possible side effects and risks before anything is prescribed.
How much weight will I lose?
We cannot promise a specific result. Results vary from person to person and depend on your health, your plan and how consistently the plan is followed. At your Glow Consultation we talk through what a realistic goal looks like for you.
Are there risks or side effects?
Any medical treatment can have risks and side effects, and they depend on what your plan includes. Your provider reviews them with you before you start, tells you what to watch for, and tells you who to contact if something does not feel right.
What does the program cost?
Cost depends on what your plan includes, so it is written into your Glow Blueprint before anything is scheduled. You see the cost first and decide in your own time.
Do you see patients from outside Vacaville?
Yes. Our clinic is in Vacaville and we serve patients throughout Solano County, including Fairfield, Dixon, Suisun City, Vallejo and Benicia. Visits are in person at our Nut Tree Road clinic.
